How is the BTS follower count added up?

We add the public count on each official group account. This is a simple sum, so one fan who follows BTS on all three apps is counted three times. That is why "BTS total followers in world" is best read as total reach, not the number of individual fans. All counts come from Social Blade, which reads each platform's public data.

Why don't the members' accounts count in the total?

The group total uses only the three group accounts. Adding the members' personal accounts would count the same fans many times over, so we show them separately below.

BTS has 81,941,133 Instagram followers on @bts.bighitofficial, the official group account run with the label. It follows 12 accounts and has 126 posts. Social Blade puts its engagement rate at 4.31%, with about 3.5 million likes per post on average. That is a high rate for an account this size.

What is the BTS instagram followers count trend?

The group account grows slowly between releases and jumps when the group posts new music, tour news or member updates. Our live profile showed 81.8M on 12 October 2026, about 140,000 fewer than the 31 October reading.

• V has the largest following of any member, with more than 77 million followers.
• Six accounts total 361,582,541 followers, far more than the group account.
• Jimin has the highest engagement rate, about 13% on Social Blade, because he posts rarely and each post gets huge likes.
• Jungkook has no Instagram. He deleted his account, which had more than 50 million followers, on 28 February 2023 and said on Weverse it was not hacked (Newsweek).

Who is the most followed BTS member?

V is the most followed BTS member on Instagram, about 17 million ahead of Jimin in second place.

The BANGTANTV channel has 86.3 million subscribers and 29,599,626,474 views across 3,116 videos (Social Blade). It was created on 17 December 2012, before the group debuted, and posts behind-the-scenes clips, dance practices and the "Bangtan Bomb" series. Official music videos go to HYBE LABELS, a separate label channel, so they are not counted here.

The @bts_official_bighit TikTok has 81 million followers, 1.8 billion likes and 358 videos (Social Blade). The account was created on 16 September 2019. It grew by about 100,000 followers in the two weeks before 31 October.

BTS, also known as the Bangtan Boys, is a South Korean boy band formed by Big Hit Entertainment, now part of HYBE. The group debuted on 13 June 2013 (Wikipedia). Its seven members are:

Yes. Few music acts have more than 80 million followers on three different platforms at once. The most followed music artists mostly reach those numbers on one or two apps, while BTS is close to even across YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. The members' personal accounts add even more reach on top.

BTS and BLACKPINK are the two K-pop groups most often compared on social media. The difference is in where their fans gather. BTS is strongest on YouTube through BANGTANTV, while BLACKPINK's members are best known for very large personal Instagram accounts. When you compare any two groups, line up the same platforms on the same date, or the gap will look bigger or smaller than it is. Are BTS followers real?

Very large accounts always pick up some inactive or fake followers, but the BTS numbers look healthy. A 4.31% engagement rate on more than 80 million Instagram followers is hard to fake, because bought followers rarely like or comment.
